Happiness is a state of Mind.

As it is, we run our fingers over the architecture of every beautiful emotion and feel nothing. We walk in the slate of impersonation and invite withering of our soul, draw the curtains to our whims and longstanding dreams and do what has to be done instead of what should be done. No, this is not procrastination. It is giving in to the heralding that make home in your mind, so firm that you almost feel like you are paralyzed and sad that you do nothing about it.
Happiness is a state of mind. It is a form of courage, it comes to those who readily want to explore every dimension of their being and not give in, never give in.
President Lincoln of the United States was the son of a Shoemaker. Once when he went to an event as the statesman, one of the guests taunted Lincoln telling him he had his shoes made by Lincoln’s father and all eyes turned to Lincoln. However, he looked at the man and asked him if he was happy with the shoes or not, he told him that his father was the best shoemaker and made the finest shoes. He even told him that he, himself knew how to make shoes and was proud of the skill. He wasn’t humiliated by the remark because he was proud of his father. This was capable of breaking him but he did not let it.

It is sad how we give unwanted things and insensitive people all the power over us to turn down the zest in us. They possess our mind and poison it. But only when you give them the space to break into your mind, and not otherwise.

Walk if you feel like, run if you feel like and Keep lying on your bed if you feel like. Do what you want to do and be proud of it. Work on your dreams and with every step you take in the direction of your ambition, no matter how tough, you will feel happy. Stop giving precedence to mainstream, do it your way. If you do not know what your way is, find it out. Kill yourself in the process. But stand up. Now.
Do not explain anyone, only you deserve to judge yourself. Eat what you want to and go places. Happiness won’t come to you crawling on its stomach, you won’t have to run after it either.

Decorate your eyelids with dreams, and close your mind to negative thoughts. Then, look in the mirror and see yourself smiling. And smile even more, do not care if your roommate is watching you, start laughing and laugh till your stomach hurts. And go out later, feel the gush of wind hit you on your face and look upto the sky, that’s your limit!

  1. Lincoln’s reference was so good. I absolutely agree with you, we should’ve a self confidence to feel humiliated so easily, we should accept our facts which will give others no power on us. Good post

  2. This is beautifully written 🙂 I didn’t know about Lincoln so much, so it was informative and with a good message added to it 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog and your generous comment 🙂

  3. Life is meant to be enjoyed with out any regrets or self consciousness. Imagine how much nicer the world would be if we lived for ourselves, respectfully, with not a care in the world for what others think. This is a beautiful, well-written, thought-provoking message.

  4. As people learn to focus on themselves and their development, happiness generates itself. As one becomes happy with “self” it becomes easier to care for other people’s happiness.
I enjoyed your article. Thank you.
